Quaint, charming and comfortable, this vacation rental cottage is filled with the warmth of hospitality. Cozy up in front of the wood burning fireplace in the evenings, or fall asleep watching the stars through the skylight over the comfortable queen bed. The space has been thoughtfully prepared with everything you need for a vacation getaway, and has a great cottage feel – bright, cozy and clean (sanitized & steam cleaned) – with views of Hotel Lake peeking through the windows.

With your own private dock located right at the end of the driveway, you can avoid the hustle & bustle of the busy tourist spots and spend your days in the calm, warm lake that is perfect for swimming. Bringing your beach towels and hit the dock! Our guests love the seclusion and privacy of Paul’s Cottage; it’s the perfect place to getaway and relax.

COTTAGE AMENITIES
Paul’s Cottage Rental Accommodation with Private Dock - Hotel Lake, Sunshine Coast BC

We are located in the marine community of Garden Bay (part of the Pender Harbour area), which has many events throughout the year. We think Hotel Lake is the best, but Paul’s Cottage is also close to plenty of other warm lakes within a close drive (Garden Bay Lake, Mixal Lake, Sakinaw Lake, Ruby Lake, Katherine Lake) – all that are wonderful for swimming and kayaking. Bring your backpacks and water bottles for day excursions and hikes, and your beach towel for drying off after a refreshing swim.

Just down the road is the trail marker for Pender Hill (758 feet/231 m) – a short, steep trail with stunning views. From the top you can look down towards Hotel Lake & Paul’s, and then across to Mount Daniel, Pender Harbour, and out towards the Strait of Georgia. The view is worth the trek.

Paul’s location is great for outdoor adventuring.

Rent our mountain bikes and take a leisurely ride to check out the eclectic General Store at John Henry’s Marina (beer/wine, basic groceries, ice, some household, sandwiches, soups, body care products, dairy). Bring your own kayak, or rent our 13’ Feelfree Corona kayak to explore all of Hotel Lake, paddling up to one of the three islands, or even the rope swing. Walk the nearby trails or take advantage of Paul’s universal gym. 

Or just relax in the private backyard under the shade of a tree – chances are deer will join you for an afternoon or early evening cocktail.

I’m Paul, owner & operator of Paul’s Cottage by the Lake

I was born in Vancouver and moved to the beautiful Sunshine Coast of BC in 2020. I bought this little lakeside cottage in 2014 for my own personal use, but decided to share this special spot with others … and Paul’s Cottage opened its doors to guests in 2015! It was a 5-year business plan and I have never looked back.

I genuinely care that my guests have a pleasant holiday. All the appreciation received by my guests gives me a great sense of gratitude. I am retired and now dedicate my time to my vacation rental business, and it’s turned out to be the best career I’ve ever had. Within a 5 minute drive from Paul’s there are two Marinas and a boat launch, and a short trip into Madeira Park and you’ll find IGA Marketplace and the Oak Tree Market which offer a variety of groceries, butcher shop, fresh produce, snacks & drinks, as well as a few local shops & art galleries.
